In Berlin, Ms. Hyde covered the role of Hannah After in the European premiere of As One by Laura Kaminsky with International Opera Projects. In New York City, she sang Miss Catchall in the premiere of Daron Hagen’s Vera of Las Vegas at The Center for Contemporary Opera, receiving positive accolades from The New York Times and Opera News, describing the performance as bringing “great dexterity, fine harmonizing and consistent beauty of tone” to the innovative production. She sang John Harbison’s cycle North and South in the Joy in Singing Composers’ Concert at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center. She has also workshopped several new productions with Music-Theater-Group in Manhattan, including The Rose Project and Izutsu – The Well Cradle, which both premiered at New York Theater Workshop.
As an experienced concert soloist, she has performed Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah and Vivaldi’s Gloria with Christ Episcopal Church in Newton, NJ. She has also sung Berlioz’s Les Nuit d’Ete with the Riverside Orchestra, Pergolesi’s Magnificat and J.S. Her interest in mixing genres and disciplines, combining dance, art, and new music, has led her to several collaborations with different dance companies. The Village Voice proclaimed that she “sang elegantly” while collaborating with choreographers in the project “Sourcing Stravinsky” at Dance Theater Workshop, New York City. Ms. Hyde also had the opportunity to premiere new musical works with the group Cherniak Dance, her mother’s dance company, at the 92nd Street Y, Riverside Church, Joyce SoHo, and the Merce Cunningham Studio, all in New York City.
Since 2018, Ms. Hyde has been a member of the Chorus at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
